Google's $3.1bn (£1.6bn) acquisition of DoubleClick, the online advertising pioneer, could become embroiled in a lengthy competition inquiry, following complaints from the company's rivals.

Microsoft, which lost out in the auction for DoubleClick last week, is orchestrating a campaign against the deal, and has recruited a number of website publishers who fear that Google is establishing a monopolistic position in internet advertising.

4/14/07 @ 0040 a high speed police chase started at Westminister Rd and NE 10th st. By NicomaPark Police with a Buick. The chase reached speeds up to 80 Miles per hour Going south bound down to SE 29th St. Then turned East on 29th St to Anderson Rd and went back North. Speeds went up to 60MPH. The Police got the car stopped in the 1600 Block of Anderson Rd 10 min after the chase started. Two Black males where in the car. Oklahoma County requested a drug dog to search the car...

Oh all this because of a simple traffic ticket. How DUMB

Apple has updated its Mac Pro high-end desktop line by offering an option for eight-core, Intel Xeon-based processing.
The eight-core workstation, which Apple announced on its Web site Wednesday as a build-to-order unit, houses two 3.0 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 "Clovertown" processors. It features 8 Mbytes of L2 cache per processor (16 Mbytes total), a 128-bit SSE3 vector engine, 64-bit data paths and registers, and 1.33 GHz, 64-bit dual independent front-side buses.

Following digital music pioneer Apple Inc.'s lead, Microsoft Corp. said it will soon sell digital music online without digital rights management (DRM) protection.


Microsoft's apparent change of heart on selling DRM-free music came in response to Apple's deal earlier in the week to sell unprotected content from recording company EMI Group PLC. The company previously claimed that DRM was necessary for current and emerging digital media business models.

By now you are probably familiarized with the 3-months old bug discovered by security vendor Determina in December 2006 that refers to a boundary error within the handling of animated cursors. If you’re not, you should know that the flaw, also known as ANI exploit, can be, well… exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted animated cursor file.

Apple silently pushed an upgrade to its Boot Camp dual-booting software on Tuesday, offering support for the latest Intel-based Macs and better hardware support among other enhancements. The Cupertino company recommended that users of the previous version upgrade to the newest release to take advantage of the new features.
